Perhaps several homeless families will sleep a little better, now that they have a place to lay their heads – a place they can call, home.
It’s possible through the efforts of Heart to Heart and its partner organizations, which recently celebrated the completion of several renovated apartment homes in Orlando for the families. The celebration, included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, blessing and open house near downtown Orlando.
You can help by donating household items, new or slightly used, for those apartment homes. They still need furniture, pots and pans, cooking utensils, plates and bowls, single beds, bed sheets, brooms and mops, etc.
To donate items or money call Ellen Parcell at 407-463-6297 or visit Heart to Heart’s website: http:/ h2hcentralflorida.org/
This effort got started last fall, with the Heart to Heart Board of Directors, friends and dignitaries gathering on the site for the ground breaking of their newest group of low-income apartment homes.
Heart to Heart is dedicated to the needs of homeless women and children overcoming difficult life issues, including abuse, some with alcohol and drug issues. The organization provides housing, support and investing in the family’s future. By implementing life-changing solutions including jobs and education the women become self-sufficient, able to live in the community independently with their children.
