OPD chief Val Demings, fmr. Vice Admiral David Brewer and others. \u00a0We\u2019ll also take a historic I\u2019m So Orlando Family photo!<\/p>\n<p>A presentation by the Orange County Regional History Center about the \u201cAnd Still We Rise\u201d exhibit will precede a viewing of the historic quilt collection. Artist, Valarie Pratt Poitier)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The beautifully hand crafted quilts, \u00a0created by an international group of artists from the <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/Jo67xCRgv44\">Women of Color Quilters Network<\/a>, narrates the history of the African American experience, capturing the stories of freedom\u2019s heroes, ranging from Frederick Douglass to Thurgood Marshall to the first African American President. Through the accessibility of their colors, patterns, symbols and style, these quilts reveal stories that enable conversations about sensitive topics from our history, creating open conversation of racial reconciliation in America.
